‘Best in Show’ awarded to SCHILLER’S FRED easyport

Posted in Company Blog by Mat Packer.

A tiny device named FRED has the power to save the lives of power and energy workers according to SCHILLER Australia managing director Harry Packer.

SCHILLER’s public access defibrillator FRED easyport won the Expo’s “Best Product” award after being judged to be of most value to the Utility industry. More than 30,000 Australians experience a cardiac arrest every year and about only 10 percent survive. A public access defibrillator is a device that automatically delivers a precise electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal heart rhythm.

The FRED easyport is the smallest defibrillator in the world. It measures just 12 by 13 centimetres and weighs less than half a kilogram. While there are a number of public access defibrillators on the market only the Swiss made SCHILLER defibrillators including the FRED easyport, and the larger FRED easy, have the, unique, Multipulse Biowave technology that delivers effective defibrillation using around one third less energy.
