At Schiller Australia, our business involves providing life saving devices to keep workplaces and the greater community safe. One such tool is an automated external defibrillator (AED).

An AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses sudden cardiac arrest. It can assess the situation and if required, will deliver a gentle but very effective electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal heart rhythm.
A defibrillator reduces the risk of death if such an event such as sudden cardiac arrest occurs, with more than 30,000 Australians at risk of heart attack each year it’s important for AED’s to be available when we need them.
That’s why we’ve contacted out neighbours in the immediate area to let them know that there is a lifesaving AED in the area should they ever need to use one.
The chance of survival from sudden cardiac arrest decreases by approximately 10% for every minute that passes before defibrillation. Bystanders must take immediate action as the first few minutes before medical help arrives are the key to survival.
An immediate response to cardiac arrest is the key. Early CPR and defibrillation triples a person’s chance of survival. You cannot afford to just wait for an ambulance.
With an AED in our offices, we’ve invited our neighbours to send a representative to grab it from the wall inside our if required, or phone us to have it brought over asap.
Do you have an AED in your business that could help save your neighbour’s life?
